After a long break…

Hello my lovely readers!

For those of you who are new here, welcome! Those of you who have been here before, you may know the long break I took off this blog. My last post was “Finding Hobbies for Individuality,” released September 7 of 2023. It is now the beginning of 2024.

With that being said- Happy New Year!

So, I know you’re wondering why I had taken this break from contributing to the blog. And this is all due to one main reason: I wasn’t sure how to proceed.

In August of last year, I wrote a post elaborating on the specific motive behind this blog, detailing the reason for the name, the type of content I would write, and how I would convey my ideas.

It seemed so clear to me then- how I was going to write about content that mattered to me. When I started writing, however, I wasn’t satisfied with where I would be going with the niche of my blog and the way I structured/conveyed the content.

In my post about why I created this blog, I talk about how my main goal involves writing about more personal reflection and experiences- content falling into the categories of productivity, self growth and learning… Another goal of this blog was to share what I would learn about scientific topics- such as creativity, introspection, logical thinking, productivity, self growth, innovation, biology, and psychology.

I hoped for this blog to be a personal, lifestyle, and scientific blog- all at the same time! And for the longest time, I thought that was the problem.

My problem centered on my desire to talk about more than one niche, and the inapplicability of my primary goal. While productivity, self growth, and learning would rely more on personal experiences, the other categories would require more external information and research as science- based posts.

But here’s what I learned. It isn’t wrong to be broad. Just like interests- it isn’t wrong to like so many things at once. Although the science- based posts wouldn’t have personal stories and experiences, they are still worthy to talk about, just like everything else I hope to share in the future.

A blog is supposed to be a safe space to share one’s own thoughts and feelings. What is shared never has to be limited to a certain niche if you don’t want it to. It could be many niches, or even an unpopulated and very specific niche.

For all the new bloggers out there that worry about choosing niches, remember that your blog is your safe space. It doesn’t matter whether you stick with a niche as long as you enjoy the topics you write about.
